Engineering and construction major, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) on Tuesday said it has bagged an order worth Rs 1,700 crore from Tata Steel for its new six million tonnes per annum (MTPA) steel plant in Odisha.
“L&T Metallurgical & Material Handling, part of L&T Construction, has secured a Rs 1,700 crore order from Tata Steel for the new six MTPA steel plant being set up at Kalinganagar, Odisha,” L&T said in a filing to BSE.
As part of the new steel manufacturing unit, L&T will execute a slew of projects, including, blast furnace, sinter plant, coke oven and construction works for other areas.
“With this new order L&T has enhanced its capabilities to provide integrated solutions for the entire steel plant,” it said.
Shares of L&T closed at Rs 1,303.15, up 1.87 per cent from its previous close on the BSE.
