The construction wing of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured orders valued at ₹2,215 crore under various business segments in the past two months.
While nearly 50 per cent of the orders was won by the power transmission and distribution business, the balance was accounted for by building and factories business.
In a communication to the stock exchanges, L&T said that the power transmission and distribution business had won new orders worth ₹1,137 crore with orders coming from both within and outside the country. While a major chunk of domestic orders was for improving the power distribution systems in Ghaziabad and Varanasi, additional orders were for different ongoing works.
The overseas order was secured by its subsidiary Larsen & Toubro Oman LLC for the construction of a substation in the Sultanate of Oman.
The building and factories business had won orders worth ₹992 crore, of which orders worth ₹ 732 crore was for construction of a commercial project and site wide infrastructure in the Sultanate of Oman. Additional orders valued at ₹116 crore were from other businesses of L&T Construction, the company said.
Shares of L&T were trading at ₹1,832.20, a loss of ₹11.30, on the BSE.
