L&T Construction has won orders worth Rs 1,002 crore across various business segments this month.
A major order worth Rs 846 crore is from the West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company for providing rural electricity infrastructure for villages in the districts of Jalpaiguri, East Midnapur, West Midnapur and Malda. The project comes under the Backward Region Grant Fund Scheme.
The company has also won international orders worth Rs 156 crore from Qatar for electrical network improvement, including additional orders in ongoing projects in West Asia, L&T said.
The L&T stock surged 4 per cent to trade at Rs 1,394 on the BSE at 1.05 p.m.
