The construction wing of Larsen & Toubro – L&T Construction – has secured orders worth ₹1,711 crore during March.
While more than half of the order value was for works relating to construction of buildings and factories, the balance was for power transmission and distribution and water and renewable energy works.
In its filings with the stock exchanges today, L&T said that the building and factories business of its construction arm had won orders worth ₹880 crore, including add-ons.
Buildings & factories biz
A significant portion of the new order was from a developer for the construction of a residential building in Mumbai that includes civil, structural, electrical and mechanical works. It also won an EPC order for a Greenfield cement grinding unit in Madhya Pradesh.
Power transmission & distribution
Power transmission and distribution business’ total orders were worth ₹676 crore, including an EPC order from Bihar State Power Transmission Company and orders for works in Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh from Power Grid Corporation.
Additional orders worth ₹155 crore were for works connected to water and renewable energy business, the statement said.
Shares of L&T (face value ₹2) are up by ₹26 at ₹1,662 on the BSE.
