Larsen and Toubro has informed stock exchanges that its construction business has won orders worth Rs 1,459 crore.
Among the major orders received were an order for the construction of Kannur International Airport in Kerala, involving an integrated terminal and an air traffic control tower complex.
The airport is expected to have a domestic and international terminal of 75,000 sq.m. with 48 check-in counters, 32 emigration counters, and 16 escalators to handle a peak capacity of 2,000 passengers an hour.
Apart from this order, there were orders from an educational institution in UP, and another order from an automobile manufacturer for the construction of a regional stockyard and a spare parts distribution centre in West Bengal.
The L&T stock was trading at Rs 1,755 this morning.
