L&T opens first rail construction training centre near Chennai

Larsen & Toubro today inaugurated India’s first rail construction training centre near Chennai.

The facility in Kanchipuram, 75 km west of the city, is aimed to augment the competency of construction workforce involved in rail construction jobs.

It will also develop a talent pool of skilled workmen capable of delivering global standards in rail construction.

Mr A.P. Mishra, Member, Engineering, Railway Board, inaugurated the facility.

The training centre can impart onsite training to nearly 300 technicians and 180 middle level managers/engineers in a year.
