The Metering & Protection Systems business of Larsen & Toubro and UK-based Cyan Holdings will come together in a strategic partnership for the development, supply and delivery of advanced metering solutions.
L&T electricity meters will be integrated with Cyan's wireless communication modules for AMI, Smart Metering and Smart Grid Pilot projects.
Both companies have identified many projects in India that require 865MHz-based interoperable wireless AMI for end-to-end communications enabling remote tamper detection and reporting and believed this technology would become a major factor in the fast growing Indian electricity metering market. L&T has an installation base in excess of 12 million meters.
