Panasonic India Ltd, part of the $105-billion Panasonic Corporation of Japan, is planning to bring in LED lighting systems and medical equipment in the next few years.
“Though we have not decided anything firm on this, we are exploring various possibilities of launching those products in the Indian market soon,” said Mr Daizo Ito, President, Panasonic India Pvt Ltd.
The company is planning to leverage the facilities of Anchor Electricals Pvt Ltd, which it acquired in 2007 for over $420 million, to manufacture LED lightings.
In the medical equipment segment, Panasonic is globally competing with the likes of Philips, GE and Siemens. “We see a great potential in the Indian market for our medical equipment,” he said.
