Footwear major Liberty Shoes has reported a 20 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 2.59 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013 compared with Rs 2.14 crore in the same period a year ago.
Gross sales for the June quarter stood at Rs 107.74 crore, registering a 35.8 per cent rise, against Rs 79.34 crore in the same period a year ago.
Adesh Gupta, CEO, Liberty Shoes, said that the company will focus on expanding into Tier-II cities with its new product lines.
The company said that it has opened 25 new stores during the current year. Liberty has 400 exclusive showrooms and over 6,000 multi-brand outlets across India. These stores are spread across metros, Tier-I and Tier-II cities.
The company manufactures 50,000 pairs of footwear in a day.
To cater to the need of the fashion-driven and quality-seeking customers in overseas market, Liberty Shoes is also exploring options for setting up overseas trading/representative offices. Currently, it supplies shoes to over 25 countries.
