Logistics costs hurt Ramco Cements

Ramco Cements has recorded a 33 per cent fall in its Q2 FY19 profit after tax at ₹114 crore, compared with ₹169 crore in the year-ago period, on account of lower realisations and higher logistics cost. Though the company’s revenue (net of excise duties and taxes) grew 11 per cent to ₹1,189 crore (₹1,074 crore), its operating profit dropped to ₹253 crore (₹309 crore), it said.
