After winning the only gold for India from the Festival of Media, Asia Pacific Awards in Singapore, Madison Media has wedged in another feather in its cap. Vikram Sakhuja is to join the Madison Media Group as Partner and Group CEO.

Sakhuja would be responsible for the Media operations as well as the out of home (OOH) business of Madison World. An alumnus of IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta, Sakhuja has over 28 years of experience.

His former roles included Global CEO of Maxus, a global media agency, CEO of GroupM South Asia and Mindshare South Asia. GroupM was formed by the advertising and marketing major WPP Group, to serve as the parent company of WPP's media agencies including Maxus, Mindshare, and others.

Asked about the appointment, Sam Balsara, Chairman and Managing Director, Madison World, said he found value in this particular acquisition. ``Vikram Sakhuja was chosen to a global position straight from a country head. No global company elevates a country head to a global head immediately. They found value, and hopefully, he has found value in joining Madison Media, which has high equity in India,'' he said.

The current Madison Media Group CEO Gautam Kiyawat has decided to relocate back to Singapore.

Madison Media handles media planning and buying for blue chip companies including Godrej, Mondelez (formerly Cadbury), ITC, Marico, McDonald’s, TVS, Raymond, Piramal Healthcare, among others. The gross billing of Madison Media Group is about Rs 3,000 crores.
