Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra today reported one per cent rise in total sales at 36,727 units in April 2015.
It had sold 36,288 units in the same month last year, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) said in a statement.
In domestic market, M&M’s sales were up by one per cent to 34,467 units last month as against 34,107 units in the same month of last year.
Exports were up four per cent at 2,260 units as compared to 2,181 units in the same period a year back.
Sales of passenger vehicles, including Scorpio, XUV 500, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 18,314 units as compared to 18,148 units in April 2014, up one per cent.
Four-wheeler commercial vehicle sales were up by one per cent to 11,744 units last month against 11,677 units in the year-ago period, M&M said.
Commenting on the outlook, M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division) Pravin Shah said, “We are happy to have achieved an overall growth during April 2015.
“The auto industry is hopeful of a better financial year as we see positive sentiments on the back of various policy and project announcements leading to higher levels of economic activity.”
“At Mahindra, we expect to perform better given the positive sentiments and the upcoming launches of our new products,” he added.
