Vacation ownership company Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India Ltd (MHRIL) is looking to expand its base overseas in locations such as Dubai, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
The company recently added a resort in Bangkok, Thailand. The new property called ‘Mac Boutique Suites’ is a 77-room resort located centrally in the Bangkok business district.
Speaking about the addition, Rajiv Sawhney, Managing Director and CEO MHRIL said, "We have been considering locations such as Dubai, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Bangkok. With this addition, our strategy to expand outside India has begun to take shape.”
Mac Boutique Suites is a full-service resort in Sukhumvit, Bangkok’s business district.
The addition has been made by acquiring 49 per cent equity share capital of Infinity Hospitalities Group Company Ltd. It is available to members of Club Mahindra through a special arrangement and a nominal access fee, Sawhney added. The resort will also cater to other travellers.
Other international destinations where Mahindra Holidays operates resorts include Thailand, Malaysia and Austria. The company has over 150,000 members.
MHRIL has added 781 rooms across the resort network over the last 10 months and with this addition the resort count at Mahindra Holidays stands at 43.
