Mahindra two-wheelers launched Duro DZ 125 cc scooter here on Thursday. Mr K. Venkatesh, Regional Manager, said on the occasion that the ex-showroom price would be Rs 44,640 and on-road price Rs 52,500.
“It is a tough vehicle made for the Indian roads with a range of attractive features and it is sure to be a big hit in the market,” he said.
A broad halogen lamp to provide better visibility, under-seat storage capacity of 20 L, rear-brake lock lever for safety and parking on inclines, long wheel base and improved braking system were some of the features of the vehicle, he said.
The company was currently selling 1,700 two-wheelers per month in Andhra Pradesh, with a market share of 12 per cent, he added.
With the introduction of Duro DZ the number would rise to 3,000 per month, he added.
The vehicle was being introduced first in Kerala and Andhra Pradesh and later it would be released in other markets, he said.
The mileage of the vehicle was put at 40-45 km/litre.
Mr K. Tirupati Rao, zonal head (sales and customer care), and Mr Venkat Anil, of Silicon Motors, also spoke.
