Mahindra & Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector (FES) domestic tractor sales rose 38 per cent to 22,196 units in April, compared with 16,049 units in the same month of the previous year.
The company’s total tractor sales (domestic and exports) in April stood at 23,202 units, a 38 per cent rise from 16,800 units sold during the same period of last year.
Exports for the month stood at 1,006 units, a 34 per cent growth over April 2012, it said.
“We feel that this is on the back of improved market sentiments. In addition the expectation of a normal monsoon is clearly being seen as a positive indicator,” said Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.
