Love is priceless, and may be a tad blind too, as the rates for hotel packages for Valentine's Day seem to indicate. Hotels are offering V-Day packages next week for upwards of Rs 1 lakh a day — and, there are takers.
Celebrate Valentine's Day in style and grandeur at the ITC Grand Central in Mumbai and Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, with packages that will take your breath away.
At the ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, couples can celebrate the day of love at the private terrace — ‘Point of View' — on the 30th floor , enjoying the 360 degree view of the city, as the candle flickers on the table.
The package includes a pick-up from your residence in a chauffeur-driven car. On arrival, a butler will help you check in to the ‘ITC One suite,' where a bottle of sparkling wine, chocolate cake and fragrant flowers await you. Lunch will be hosted at the restaurant of your choice, and then, you can relax at the hotel's spa and experience special therapies.
Candle-light dinner
In the evening, there will be a customised dinner under candle light, with a bottle of champagne, long stemmed roses and soft music. This ‘Night to Remember' package costs Rs 1.5 lakh a couple.
To treat your beloved to a day of the royal lifestyle, Taj Falaknuma in Hyderabad could be your pick.
Dinner by the pool side at the Nizam Suite — the grand presidential suite of the palatial hotel — will cost you a little over Rs 50,000 a couple. This will include a Jaguar car pick-up and drop to the residence, arrival to the palace on the Nizam's horse carriage, champagne and rose-petal welcome, customised menu with a bottle of sparkling wine, live instrumental music to liven up the ambience, among other things.
The above dining experience with one night's accommodation in the Nizam Suite and a spa treatment for a couple is also on offer, for around Rs 2.5 lakh.
“These offerings are, of course, for the crème-de-la-crème. We have got queries in the past where individuals want to celebrate their anniversaries or propose to their girlfriend in an exquisite manner and they don't mind paying for it. This offer will also have takers,” said a senior official from ITC.
Other hotels across the country such as Marriott, Four Seasons, and Hyatt have prepared special fine dining arrangements, ranging from Rs 1,500 to Rs 7,000.
