Mahindra & Mahindra has reported a 29.11 per cent jump in its total sales in June at 35,584 units against 27,562 units in the corresponding month of 2010.
Domestic sales registered a rise of 28.69 per cent at 33,772 units compared with 26,243 units in the year-ago period, the company said in a statement.
Total sales of passenger vehicles, including the Scorpio, Xylo, Bolero and Verito, stood at 16,053 units against 13,316 units in June 2010, up 20.55 per cent. Sales of the Verito sedan went up by over two-fold to 1,510 units from 563 units.
“We are happy with the 29 per cent growth that we have clocked in June, given the pressures of increasing interest rates and commodity prices,” the M&M Chief Executive (Automotive Division), Mr Rajesh Jejurikar, said.
Sales of three-wheelers and Gio and Maxximo mini-trucks during June jumped 7.03 per cent to 5,149 units from 4,811 units. Four-wheeler commercial vehicles sales also increased by 65.02 per cent to 11,560 units from 7,005 units, the statement said.
Light commercial vehicle sales from Mahindra Navistar Automotives Ltd during the month stood at 1,010 units against 1,111 units in the same month a year ago, a fall of 9.09 per cent.
Exports jumped 37.38 per cent to 1,812 units from 1,319 units.
