Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) sold 27,321 units in September in the domestic market, recording a 1 per cent rise from 25,922 units sold during the same month a year ago.
The company’s total tractor sales (domestic and exports) rose to 28,739 units during the month under review, as against 26,637 units sold in September 2013.
The company exported 1,418 units during the month, nearly double the 715 units exported in September 2013, the company said in a statement.
“The festive season has provided a boost to the domestic tractor industry growth. We do hope that this growth continues over the next few months,” said Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Farm Equipment and Two-Wheeler Division, M&M.
