Based on the success of The New Age XUV500, Mahindra and Mahindra launched the automatic transmission of the sports utility vehicle today, which will be available on three variants of the New Age XUV500 - W8 FWD and W10 FWD & AWD.
The 6-speed Automatic Transmission of the New Age XUV500 comes with an all-wheel drive option and will be available from December 5. While W8 FWD and W10 FWD will be priced at Rs 15.36 lakh and Rs 16.36 lakh respectively, the AWD variant will be available at Rs 17.36 lakh.
Pravin Shah, President and Chief Executive (Automotive) at Mahindra and Mahindra clarified that there is nothing common between automatic transmission version of its Scorpio and XUV500.
The New Age XUV500 Automatic has all terrain capabilities and Automatic Transmission has been sourced for the first time from Japan-based AISIN, which is a market leader since 2005 with a share of 14.5 per cent.
The XUV500 was first launched in 2011, followed by its first major upgrade, the New Age XUV500, in 2015. M&M has sold 1.50 lakh XUV 500 globally so far and it has received 29 awards.
