Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has sold 16,257 tractors in the domestic market in December, a 19 per cent increase from 13,712 units sold during the same month a year ago.
The company’s overall sales grew 15 per cent to 17,037 units during the month under review, while exports stood at 780 units.
“At the end of the first nine months of the current fiscal year, we have achieved a domestic growth of 24 per cent. With expectations of a bumper rabi crop, we believe we will see a double digit growth in the next three months. A continued shift towards greater mechanisation on farms will provide an impetus to sales,” said Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive, Tractor and Farm Mechanisation at Mahindra & Mahindra.
