Automobile major Mahindra & Mahindra would continue to focus on utility vehicles segment with the launch of fresh products on new platforms, a top company official has said.
“The utility vehicles (UV) segment is the core focus area of Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) where concentration will revolve around this segment,” Jyoti Malhotra, VP (Sales) of the company said today.
Launching the new version of its large selling SUV Scorpio here, Malhotra said M&M is the market leader in UV segment with products like Bolero, Scorpio, XUV500, Xylo and Quanto, the first one being the largest selling.
“To sustain that leadership position, the company will launch newer products on different platforms as well as refresh the existing models,” he told reporters.
Now the entire automotive market is going through a de-growth phase, he said, adding that signs of positivity in sentiments has started to surface from the second quarter of the current financial year.
“The coming festive season is expected to augur well for automobile companies,” Malhotra said.
