The iconic British retailer, Marks & Spencer (M&S), has expanded its presence in South India with the opening up of two more stores in Hyderabad.
The move follows the opening of its flagship store at Jubilee Hills earlier this year. The retailer has quadrupled its store footprint in Hyderabad from 15,000 sq.ft to 60,000 sq. ft.
Venu Nair, Managing Director of Marks & Spencer Reliance India, in a statement said: “Expanding our presence in South India is an important part of our growth strategy for India. Hyderabad is an exciting city for Marks & Spencer and building our store presence here has been our top priority this year.”
The two new stores have been designed to offer an international shopping experience, showcasing the company's stylish winter collections.
Trading from two floors across over 22,000 sq.ft., the new store at the Forum Sujana Mall, Kukatpally offers an extensive range across menswear, womenswear, kidswear, lingerie, and skincare products from its beauty catalogue.
The new 7,600 sq. ft. store at GVK One mall offers a wide range of menswear and womenswear products.
Marks & Spencer had opened its first store in India in 2001 and in April 2008, had signed a joint venture with Reliance Retail to form Marks & Spencer Reliance India. M&S now has 45 stores. Established in 1884, M&S has over 810 UK stores and 470 plus international stores across Europe, West Asia and Asia.
