Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Monday said that it will increase prices on select models by up to 4.7 per cent owing to increase in input costs.
“The price change varies across models up to 4.7 per cent (ex-showroom - Delhi). The new prices are effective from January 27, 2020,” the company said in a statement.
The models include Alto, S-Presso and WagonR in the entry-level, Baleno, Ertiga and ZL6. The price of Alto range has gone up in the range of ₹6,000-₹9,000, S-Presso between ₹1,500 and ₹8,000 and WagonR between ₹1,500 and ₹4,000.
The price of its multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga will go up between ₹4,000 and ₹10,000, Baleno by ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 and XL6 by up to ₹5,000 (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
The company had increased the priced in January 2019 by up to ₹10,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
MSIL was also one of the few companies which had also cut prices post the corporate tax reduction announcement in September last year. Prices were reduced on select models by ₹5,000 on ex-showroom price.
The models that saw cut in prices included Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Dzire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross.
