Maruti Suzuki India today launched the all new Swift priced between 4.42 lakh and 5.53 lakh for petrol model and 5.17 lakh and 6.38 lakh for diesel variant. The car will be sold across 981 dealerships of the company.
Maruti Suzuki and its suppliers have invested over Rs 550 crore to make the new Swift which is 95 per cent localised. The Swift entered the Indian market in 2005 selling over 6,00,000 units in six years. The new Swift already has 50,000 booking orders.
PTI reports:
“We have launched the new Swift at a time when there was a significant demand for the outgoing model. I am confident that the new Swift will create new benchmarks with its improved fuel efficiency, stylish and sportier looks and high performance,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO, Mr Shinzo Nakanishi, told reporters here.
Launched six years back, the Swift has been a runaway success for the company, with over six lakh units sold so far.
Maruti is hoping that the new version will further strengthen its position.
The new Swift is available in both petrol and diesel options. The petrol variant is powered by a 1.2-litre K series engine, while the diesel version has a 1.3-litre engine.
