Country’s largest car-maker Maruti Suzuki on Friday said its premium compact car Ritz has crossed two lakh unit sales mark within three years of its launch.
The Delhi-based auto maker expects to attain even higher volumes in the near future, a company release said.
“Ritz, like its sibling Swift, is one of the fastest models to achieve the 200,000-mark. During FY12 it was one of the bestsellers in the premium A2 segment,” the release added.
The company sold over 64,000 units in the domestic market last fiscal.
One of the most popular Maruti brands in the Asian market, Ritz’s total exports to the region, including Southeast Asia and South Asia, stood at 8,000 units till date.
“We are happy that Ritz has found appreciation for itself among consumers across age groups. Launched in 2009, Ritz has indeed played a wonderful inning so far. It is one of the finest offering in terms of technology,” Maruti Suzuki India Chief General Manager (marketing) Mr Shashank Srivastva said.
Launched in 2009, the car is powered by the two most successful engines 1.2 litre K-series petrol engine (first on Ritz) and DDiS 1.3 L diesel engine.
