The country's largest passenger vehicles maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Wednesday reported a 9 per cent rise in its domestic sales to 1,35,128 units in October as compared with 1,23,684 units in same month last year.
The compact segment (like Swift, Baleno, Dzire) contributed the most with 62,480 units during the month as against 50,116 units in October 2016.
The utility vehicle segment grew 30 per cent year-on-year to 23,382 units last month compared with 18,008 units in the same month last year.
However, sales of the mini segment (Alto and WagonR) declined by 4 per cent to 32,490 units in October as against 33,929 units in the same month last year.
Sales of its mid-size sedan were also down 35 per cent year-on-year to 4,107 units as compared with 6,360 units in October last year.
