Continuing its success with models such as Baleno, Vitara Brezza and the launch of the new Dzire, the country's largest passenger vehicles maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) on Tuesday reported a growth of 22 per cent in July domestic sales to 1,53,298 units as compared with 1,25,764 units in July 2016.
Segment-wise the compact segment (including Swift, Ignis, Baleno, Dzire) contributed the most with 63,116 units, a growth of 25 per cent as compared with 50,362 units in the corresponding month last year.
The mini segment (Alto and WagonR) grew by 21 per cent year-on-year (YoY) to 42,310 units in the domestic market against 35,051 units in July 2016, MSIL said.
Similarly, the utility vehicles (including Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza) segment grew by 48 per cent to 25,781 units as compared with 17,382 units in the corresponding month last year.
The company sold 703 units of its light commercial vehicle, Super Carry, during the month as against only 14 units in July last year.
