Maruti Suzuki plans to open eight more of its premium car outlets NEXA in Gujarat's tier two and three cities during the current financial year.
The company offers premium cars exclusively at NEXA retail outlets, which was first launched in July 2015.
The car major already has seven NEXA outlets in Gujarat spread in four major towns, Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot. "We will add eight more outlets in Gujarat by the end of this financial year. These outlets will come up closer to out customer base, including tier-2, 3 towns," said Thomas Cheriyan, Assistant General Manager - Marketing, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.
Company's 9 per cent sales come from Gujarat, where it has the market share of about 50 per cent. Cheriyan launched company's premium hatchback Baleno in Ahmedabad.
The company has 80 outlets in India at present, which it plans to increase to 100 by the end of the current fiscal.
Maruti has reported 12.7 per cent growth in sales - almost double the industry growth rate of 6.2 per cent in the first half of the current fiscal. "The growth is mainly driven by new models and customer confidence on Maruti Suzuki brand. Rural pocket has higher growth as compared to urban pocket," said Cheriyan.
