Maruti plans to open nearly 100 NEXA showrooms in the next 6-8 months across the country to sell premium cars, according to T. Hashimoto, the Executive Director (Marketing and Sales).
He was speaking here on Wednesday evening after inaugurating NEXA showroom of the Varun group, the Maruti dealer. He said NEXA showrooms would offer Indian customers a unique buying experience. "Indian customers are becoming more dynamic and demanding than ever and to meet their tastes we have come up with NEXA concept," he said.
He said the NEXA would offer the customer utmost satisfaction and at present S-Cross, the new premium model, would be sold and later several new models would be added. He further said Maruti was aiming at 2 million annual sales by 2020.
V. Prabhu Kishore, the chairman of Varun group, explained the progress of the group which opened its first showroom in Vizag in 1996 and a workshop and now "our group has 22 showrooms and 24 workshops spread across 17 districts of AP and Telangana. We started with 65 employees and we now employ close to 5,000." He said the price of S-Cross would be in the range of Rs 10 lakhs to Rs 17 lakhs.
