Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India has announced a 5.3 per cent growth in its sales number for the first quarter of CY 13. The company has sold 2,009 units during the January-March period against 1,908 units in the same period last year.
Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and CEO, said, “We are very satisfied with the company performance in this quarter, given the overall strain in the Indian economy and the fact that the passenger vehicles market has de-grown by double digits in January-February 2013.” With over 800 units sold, the E-Class has been the single largest contributor to the sales volumes this year.
