Mercedes-Benz on Thursday launched a sport edition of its flagship sedans - the c-class and E-class, priced at Rs 29.9 lakh and Rs 39.9 lakh respectively.
The C- class sedan has so far sold close to 16,000 units in the Indian market since its introduction and E- class has sold 21,000 units till date.
The company has so far hiked prices twice in 2012 averaging around 4-5 per cent of retail prices. The company plans to launch A-class model by next year, its price range likely to be below Rs 20,00,000. The company said that it is seeing growth in the Rs 25 lakh segment, and its Rs 30 lakh plus luxury segment is flat.
