Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz has announced it has registered a 25 per cent year-on-year growth in sales during the first six months of 2014.
The company sold 4,717 units in the January-June period against 3,758 units in HY 2013. The significant contributors to this growth trajectory were the flagship S-Class sedan, the ML-Class SUV and the compact portfolio comprising the A-Class and B-Class.
The recently launched CLA 45 AMG is expected to appeal to a new group of young Indians, hence widening the AMG customer base in India, Mercedes Benz said in a release.
Eberhard Kern, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “2014 is our Year of Excellence and it is our endeavour to create a new benchmark in modern luxury. Our ‘Year of Excellence’ growth strategy is paying off as we have been able to maintain our key focus of growth and sustainability in the Indian market amidst challenging market conditions.”
