Mercedes-Benz India on Thursday launched its global portfolio and luxury sedan CLA-Class, priced between ₹31.50 lakh and ₹35.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The company has launched three variants -- the CLA 200 CDI priced at ₹31.50 lakh, the CLA 200 Sport priced at ₹35 lakh and the CLA 200 CDI Sport priced at ₹35.90 lakh (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
“With many segment benchmarks, we are convinced that the CLA will firmly make its mark in India. Its powerful design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand. The CLA-Class has been a global success winning new customers for Mercedes-Benz and we aim to replicate this success in India,” Eberhard Kern, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mercedes-Benz India, said.
He said the company has incorporated India specific changes to the car making it even more adept for the Indian conditions.
Petrol, diesel engines
The new car is powered by four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines.
The two-litre petrol engine produces 135 kW at 5,500 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1,200-4,000 rpm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.8 seconds with a top speed of 235 kmph, the company said.
The diesel engine produces 100kW between 3,600-4,400 rpm with a maximum torque of 300 Nm between 1,600-3,000 rpm.
Panaromic sunroof
With its large glazed areas, the panoramic sunroof ensures a particularly bright and welcoming ambience in the interior. It also responds automatically to rain -- if it is open, it automatically moves to the raised position to prevent rain from entering the interior.
The company is also providing finance and service packages with the CLA for customers with a specially curated financial programme from Mercedes-Benz Financial, offering an interest rate of 9.99 per cent.
