Public sector undertaking Mishra Dhatu Nigam Ltd (Midhani has earned a net profit of Rs 45 crore on its all time high sales turnover of Rs 436 crore for 2010-11.
The ‘mini ratna' has orders valued at over Rs 707 crore, of which Rs 415 crore was bagged during the last fiscal, according to a press release. The company had surpassed the target of Rs 370 crore set for the year.
The productivity per employee has also gone up from Rs 9.05 lakh to Rs 43.41 lakh in the past six years, according to Mr M. Narayana Rao, Chairman and Managing Director. During the year, Midhani set up an exclusive Fasteners plant run by women employees to make superalloys, titanium and special steel fasteners for catering to aerospace and naval applications.
