Pune-based Mitcon Consultancy and Engineering Services Ltd, which provides end-to-end consultancy services to various sectors, on Tuesday said it has opened an office in Ahmedabad to expand services in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
The company’s turnover is expected to increase from Rs 48.75 crore in 2013-14 to Rs 55 crore this financial year, said Dr Pradeep Bavadekar, Managing Director.
The Ahmedabad office is the first property Mitcon procured out of the Rs 25 crore it raised through an IPO in 2013, he said.
Dr Bavadekar said a mega food park, being developed at Mangrol in Surat district, for which Mitcon has consulted, will be launched in 2015. The park, being set up with an investment of Rs 115 crore (including a Rs 50 crore grant from the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries), is expected to attract investments to the tune of Rs 500 crore to Rs 700 crore from over a dozen companies.
In Gujarat, Mitcon has consulted for 55 megawatt of solar projects at Charanka-based Solar Park. It is currently consulting for a 100-mw wind power project for the Adanis at Mundra, and a 50-mw wind power project for GMDC near Surat, among others.
Mitcon Consultancy, listed on the NSE’s SME Platform (Emerge), was formed as a technical consultancy organization in 1982 jointly by ICICI, IDBI, SICOM, MIDC, MSIDC, and various banks. Currently it provides services mainly in sectors like power (biomass, wind, solar, waste-to-energy projects etc.) infrastructure, banking and financial institutions.
