Mitsu Chem Plast, a BSE SME listed company, has commissioned a new manufacturing unit to produce plastic moulded products at Khalapur in Maharashtra with an investment of ₹30 crore. The plant will take the company’s overall capacity to 1.20 lakh tonnes from 7,800 tonnes and employee strength to 630 from 430. As part of consolidation, the company has shut down its two units at Rudrapur (Uttarkhand) and Vasai (Maharashtra) while retaining production at Tarapur (Maharashtra). The company produces hospital furniture, besides infrastructure and automotive parts.
