Even as digital advertising spurts along, growing at a fast clip, the share of mobile advertising within that has grown by 17 per cent. Mobile ads is valued at Rs 105 crore in March 2012 as opposed to Rs 90 crore in March 2011, according to the findings of the 4th Digital Advertising Report jointly published by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IMRB. According to the report, mobile ads are expected to reach Rs 144 crore by 2013, which will be approximately 4 per cent of the total digital advertising spend (even ahead of social media – which is 3 per cent). Mobile ads include WAP/ Browser based ads, in-app ads and SMS ads. Of course, online classifieds and search still take away the bulk of ad spends share.
