Auto component maker Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd (MSSL) today reported a 1.84 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 254.21 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014.
The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 249.6 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 8,948.81 crore, up 13.42 per cent, against Rs 7,889.83 crore in the year-ago period, Motherson Sumi said in a filing to the BSE.
Commenting on the company’s performance, Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd Chairman V C Sehgal said: “The strong revenue growth, improved operational performance coupled with prudent financial management have resulted in the company consistently outperforming the market.”
“As the global markets are also picking up, we expect the company to keep on delivering exceptional performance,” he added.
During the quarter under review, the group’s sales in India was at Rs 1,322.24 crore, while that outside the country was at Rs 7,627.57 crore.
Shares of MSSL were trading at Rs 441.80 apiece, up 0.97 per cent from their previous close on the BSE.
