Motherson Sumi Systems Ltd has posted a marginal increase in consolidated net profit of Rs 139.63 crore for the quarter ended September 30. The auto component maker’s net profit for the comparable quarter a year ago stood at Rs 137.58 crore.

The company’s consolidated income from operations rose to Rs 7,243 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs 5,890.52 crore posted during the same period last year.

“Both the domestic and overseas business of the company showed robust performance despite month long annual shutdown in Europe due to summer holidays,” MSSL Chairman, V.C. Sehgal, said.

MSSL, a joint venture between Samvardhana Motherson Group and Japan’s Sumitomo Wiring Systems, said it has commenced construction of new plants at Schierling (Germany) and Marysville (the US).
