Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode, have come forward to support start-ups of women entrepreneurs. In a statement here, Rudolf VJ Norhonha, General Manager of MRPL, said that to promote women entrepreneurs and to support the ‘Start-Up India’ mission of the Government, MRPL and IIM - Kozhikode and IIMK-Live has jointly launched a Women Entrepreneur development plan called ‘La Eve’. He said ‘La Eve’ plan of MRPL-IIMK aims to encourage women to take up business ideas, enterprise in diverse fields and launch them into a successful venture. Start-ups will be selected based on the projected business model through IIM-K Live, a start-up incubation centre promoted by IIM-Kozhikode. Selected start-ups will be given training, mentoring and support during the incubation stage by IIMK-Live. In addition, a seed fund assistance, which can be up to ₹25 lakh will be made available to selected start-ups. Early stage start-ups with the minimum viable product or at least a proof of concept would be considered. Women entrepreneurs can apply either at MRPL website (in ‘Start Up’ section), or at IIMKLIVE website .
Norhonha said that the last date for sending application for the programme is November 25.
