Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) has said that the delayed coker unit (DCU) of a capacity of 3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) has gone on stream.
The company informed the BSE on Thursday that DCU, which is part of the third phase refinery expansion project, went on stream on April 3. With this, the fuel oil production will come down drastically with corresponding increase in high-value products, it said.
A DCU helps convert the residual oil into products.
