National Aluminium Co Ltd’s hopes of resumption operations at its bauxite mine have been dashed as the company has not got formal permission till Thursday.
Work at its Panchpatmali mine in Koraput district of Odisha was suspended after its long-term lease expired on November 16.
“We expect that the permission should be formally available before the end of this week. Our refinery, which was operating at one fourth of its rated capacity for over a week, might have to be shut down if we cannot restart mining operations by this week-end,” a senior official of Nalco told Business Line.
