Nandan Denim Ltd (NDL), India’s second largest integrated denim manufacturer, on Tuesday, reported a 30.5% increase in net profit and 6.4% increase in sales in the second quarter of 2015-16, ended September 30, as compared to the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
While the sales were Rs. 294.53 crore (Rs. 276.94 crore), PAT stood at Rs. 15.61 crore (Rs. 11.95 crore), the company said in a statement here.
Deepak Chiripal, CEO, said the company’s proposed capacity expansion of Rs.612 crore is expected to be on stream in Q1FY 17. Major capital expenditure orders have already been finalised and civil activities are in full swing.
Headquartered in Ahmedabad, NDL has expanded its capacity from 6 million metres per annum (MMPA) to the intended capacity of 110 MMPA over the last 10 years. Post expansion, it will become the largest denim manufacturer in the country and the fourth largest in the world.
