Denim fabric maker Nandan Denim Ltd (NDL) posted net profit of Rs 15 crore for the quarter ended March 2015, showing a growth of 25 per cent up from Rs 12 crore reported in the same period last year.
The company reported net sales of Rs 278 crore for the quarter as against Rs 239 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
For the financial year ended March 2015, company's net profit stood at Rs 51 crore against Rs 39 crore last year, showing a growth of 30 per cent on year-on-year basis.
The growth in revenue is on account of better scale of operations on the back of capacity expansion, penetration in export segment and product diversification into yarn dyed shirting segment.
Profitability improvement is on account of cost rationalisation coupled with improved sale realisations with higher proportion of value added products.
Export constituted 13 per cent of its annual revenue, while 11 per cent of its revenues came from shirting business.
The board of directors declared the final dividend of 16 per cent or Rs 1.60 per equity share of face value of Rs 10 each including interim dividend of 6 per cent.
Nandan Denim shares closed in red at Rs 90.15 down 2.65 per cent from its previous close on the BSE.
