Bengaluru-headquartered Narayana Hrudayalaya (now known as Narayana Health Group) on Monday acquired the city-based Westbank Hospital for Rs 150 crore.
The acquisition of two units of Westbank will see the addition of approximately 400 beds. Both units are in Howrah, Kolkata’s twin-city.
Following the deal, Narayana Health will have 7,400 beds across 29 facilities in the country.
This is the second such acquisition by the group in West Bengal. Earlier in March, Narayana Health had acquired two hospitals – one each in Barasat a Berhampore – of Jubilant Life Sciences.
“We will look towards re-branding the new units; but, it will take some time. Integration of Westbank with Narayana Health is expected to happen over the next six months,” Dr Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, Vice Chairman, MD & Group CEO, Narayana Health, told Business Line.
Narayana Health had been managing the cardiac centre at Westbank Hospital since 2012.
