State—run National Fertilizers Ltd today reported a 12 per cent fall in net profit at Rs 54.19 crore for the second quarter ended September 30.

The company had clocked a net profit of Rs 61.75 crore in the year ago period.

The total income from operations declined to Rs 2,255.77 crore in the current quarter from Rs 2,323.63 crore in the year ago period.

National Fertilizers Ltd has five gas—based urea plants, Nangal and Bathinda in Punjab, Panipat in Haryana and two plants at Vijaipur in District Guna, Madhya Pradesh.

The company has a total annual installed capacity of 35.68 lakh tonnes and is the second largest producer of urea in the country after IFFCO.
