Nava Bharat Ventures Ltd has recorded a standalone net profit of Rs 72.34 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012 against Rs 66.12 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company logged in Rs 244.27-crore revenue during the fourth quarter against Rs 267.14 crore in the same quarter last year.
On a standalone basis, the company logged a lower net profit of Rs 180.80 for the year-ended March 31, 2012 against Rs 303.78 crore in the year-ago period. This was due to pressure on margins in power business.
The company board approved a dividend of 200 per cent.
On a consolidated basis, the company closed the year with a net profit of Rs 251.73 crore against Rs 330.19 crore in the pervious year. Income stood at Rs 994.80 crore (Rs 1,090.46 crore).
The power business was impacted due to forced outages in the backdrop of strife in Andhra Pradesh and restrictions on open access in Odisha. The power business had to contend with pressure on margins due to increase in fuel cost.
