State-owned NBCC (India) Ltd on Thursday signed an MoU with the Commerce Ministry for a ₹400-crore project to construct the India Pavilion at Dubai World Expo 2020.
Under the project, it will conceptualise, design and construct a 4,614 sq m pavilion and other utilities. The pavilion will showcase India’s strengths in innovation and start-ups in hi-tech areas such as artificial intelligence, fin-tech, space and green energy. It will also exhibit various Central programmes such as Make in India, Smart Cities and Digital India.
An estimated 10 million visitors from 200 countries are expected to visit show, which would remain open for six months.
The main theme of Dubai World Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’ with three sub-themes — Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability — to generate sustainable solutions to global problems, demands and collaboration areas across cultures, countries and regions.
