Dialysis care provider NephroPlus has acquired DaVita Care India, an arm of US-based DaVita Inc, for an undisclosed sum.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Monday, Vikram Vuppala, founder and CEO, NephroPlus, told newspersons that the acquisition included all 22 centres of DaVita Care India which serve over 1,700 dialysis patients.

With the acquisition, the Hyderabad-based company’s centres will increase to 176 across 97 cities in 18 states with 2,700 employees. The number of patients will go up to 14,000.

Expansion plan

“We are also planning to expand our operations abroad with a buy in South East Asia before end of March 2019,’’ he said, adding that the company was also in the process of raising ₹150 crore through existing and new investors soon.

While India is a good market for dialysis care, South East Asia and the West Asian countries have price points which are two to eight times higher than those in India. India dialysis care costs ₹2-3 lakh per patient, he added.

NephroPlus posted ₹150 crore revenue in FY 18 as against ₹93 crore in the previous year. This year, it expects to clock ₹200 crore revenue.
