In a managerial rejig, Nestle India on Friday said Managing Director Etienne Benet will be leaving the company with effect from July 25.

He will be replaced by Suresh Narayanan, the current Chairman and CEO of Nestle Philippines, who is likely to take over from August 1 with Benet relocating to Nestle's head office in Switzerland, the company said in a statement.

"Narayanan will function as a designate. The proposal is subject to necessary approvals," said the statement.

A graduate of the Delhi School of Economics, Narayanan has been associated with Nestle since 1999. Between 2005 and 2008, he headed Nestle's South Asia sales department and was market head for Nestle's North-East Africa Region.

The company has spent at least Rs 320 crore pulping its Maggi instant noodles since the Indian food regulator banned the product after tests found elevated levels of lead and artificially-added monosodium glutamate.
